Elizabeth (Liz) Lowrie is an Australian with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Biology. She is a retired career public servant who has held senior executive positions in the Commonwealth Government in Financial Services (ASIC), Private Health, and the Foreign Service. She is an ex diplomat. She has also worked in Disability Services for the NSW Government, and in local government (for Perth City Council). Liz is a co-founder of the Maryborough Mural Project and together with Deborah Hannam is responsible for the overall management of the project, they liaise with sponsors, community groups and artists on the mural design. Deb and Liz also find buildings in the CBD on which to place the mural. Liz also writes the press releases for the project. Liz has a keen interest in art – it’s symbolic meanings are often the same as in dream interpretation – her retirement business.

Events Coordinator
As our events coordinator, Tracey coordinates all the invitations and resources needed to ensure our events run smoothly. Tracey is a long time resident of Maryborough and works full time in addition to volunteering on the project.
Committee Member
Deborah was born in Sydney and worked extensively within the Federal Government from 1973 to 1996. She has worked and travelled in Australia and moved to Maryborough permanently in 1988 and raised her two children in the city. Deborah has run her successful business, Alpha Natural Health Centre since graduating with a Diploma of Applied science (Naturopathy) in 1996. Her husband has been an electrical contractor in Maryborough for over 20 years and operates CD & DC Electrics. Deborah and her husband want to see a prosperous future for this town. Deb is a co-founder of the Maryborough Mural Project and together with Liz Lowrie is responsible for the overall management of the project, they liaise with sponsors, community groups and artists on the mural design. Deb and Liz also find buildings in the CBD on which to place the mural. Deborah enjoys the lifestyle in Maryborough and wants to make a positive difference to the city’s longterm economic future.
Mural Production Support
Malcolm is our Mural Production Supervisor responsible for assisting in all aspects of mural production. He prepares the walls for painting and works with the artists to provide any resources needed to complete murals. Malcolm balances this workload with his full time job.
Sponsor Coordinator
Tracey moved to Maryborough in 2003 and joined the project as the Sponsorship Coordinator because she loved the idea of creating a way to entice visitors to our beautiful city. Tracey helps coordinate our sponsors and is our go-to person when we need some resources or services to support mural production. She is responsible for contacting and requesting support from the local business community and for ensuring all our sponsors are acknowledged for their valuable contribution. Tracey balances this function with family life and a full time job in Allied Health.
Research Officer
Dawn helps with research for our Murals including creating visual displays for each mural opening.
Positions Vacant
Our Team could use some extra help from time to time. Most of us are supporting the project while balancing busy work and family lives. You can help us by assisting any of the above team members to help spread the load.
